Two Kingdoms
In a sort of overlapping magisteria, we have come far in this planet's history in our relationship with other species. With some canines, birds and cats, we have developed a wonderful symbiotic friendship. Some of these species could not survive without us. And we would be the poorer without their company. Other "pets" are more exotic and opinions differ on whether or not they should be domesticated.
But most forest creatures cannot easily co-exist with people. To us, they are a nuisance. They cause property damage, spread disease, and can even threaten small children and domesticated pets. For them, the association with us is not healthy either, since it alienates them from their natural habitat, and may actually threaten their existence.
Most people today want to deal with the wildlife invasion of their homes and businesses humanely, and in as natural a way as possible. Returning wild animals to a suitable habitat, even if at another location, is the answer.
